For Providers

Less time chasing paperwork. More time for care.

Electronic prior authorization should make your team’s work easier, not give it another set of payer connections to manage.

Smart Health Network is building a shared way to reach participating plans through the EHR, workflow tools and partners you already use.

Stop starting over with every plan

Much of the work of connecting — registration, credentials, configuration and testing — is repeated across payer relationships. A common network makes more of that work reusable.

The goal is simple: adding a participating plan should not mean rebuilding everything that already works.

Keep the workflow your team depends on

Start through a supported native EHR connection, an authorized SMART-enabled integration, your own interface or a workflow partner. Your EHR and care decisions stay with you.

Your technical team or partner can help identify the easiest supported starting point and any remaining setup.

Know where the request stands

Was it submitted? Is information missing? Has the plan decided? Who needs to act?

The shared exchange carries the plan’s updates back to the connected workflow. Clear status can reduce the need to call around for an answer and help your team keep the person waiting for care informed. Required status is included, not a paid analytics upgrade.

Join the work toward January

Bring your EHR or workflow contact and one synthetic prior authorization. Test the request, the return response and the steps that can otherwise lead to another phone call.

You can keep useful existing payer connections while testing the shared approach.

Understand the costs and choices

Within the supported prior-authorization scope, there is no SHN participation, network-access, transaction or required Gateway-software-license fee. Your integration, infrastructure and vendor costs may still apply.

Use your own team, a qualified operating partner or SHN’s optional Managed Gateway service. A practice does not have to build an infrastructure department to explore participation.

Start with one workflow. Help make the next connection easier.
